When there is nothing you can do but listen

0

As you grow up, and start to grasp your surroundings  and the events that unleash in front of you, you start to appreciate the beauty of being a child. The innocence and ignorance and the unconditional love and joy you used to spread all over the place. When you look at your siblings now, and where they have decided to proceed in life, you start to sit back and just watch. Sometimes you wonder "Why did they become like this, this isn't right." then you start to question "What did she do to deserve this miserable life." but then with this second thought in mind you come to learn that it is meant to be for her like this, for her future is going to be bright and she will not suffer anymore.

I have to admit that this is quite difficult to experience, yet again it is a wonderful feeling. Although there is nothing you can do to change the situation, the idea that you are actually there for them, simply just to hear them out and let them talk all they want is a blessing. In return you do want to make it better, but you have to tell them it's okay, it's going to be okay you just have to wait a little more. It's hard to do, but makes that sensation rush over you that you have done a difference, you have patted their back and made them know they're not alone.

It will get better, but it's going to take some time.

It will change, but it's going to take some effort and time.

It will make her happy, but it's going to take some effort, effort, and more time.

In the end it requires strength, and the strength god have given you has put you in these situation because god knows you're fit enough to handle it all.

Be patient, and a little stronger...it will get better...nothing lasts forever.

The minor vs The major

0

©EnkiQuotes.com

Everyday you wake up, it's a blessing. Yes, a blessing everyone knows that but not everyone appreciates it. What makes up this blessing is the fact the you were given a new day to live, and to make a difference in this world.

When you start your day with a prayer, you know you will be alright throughout the day. Yet again, everyone prays in the morning for their desires, but not everyone prays consciously.

These days, respect seems to be lacking in our actions. Everything we do, we're missing something important, appreciation and respect. We seem to forget that the people we work with, and the ones serving us are actually people in return. They have their own lives, their own issues, and their own concerns. We seem to lack notice of that and think the world revolve around ourselves only. Why do we forget that these people may be having a bad day and are forcing themselves to smile and serve us with their best, why do we seem to forget that they maybe experiencing the best day of their lives and forget to say something nice just to add a little more joy to their lives? Why does this seem too hard to perform?

Funny to mention, it is way too easy to show off and dive into other people's private lives. It is also way too easy to follow the trends and the latest hypocrisy trends, yet too hard to show appreciation and to respect..what is this turning us into...monsters day by day.

This scares me of the day future becomes near, and their is no decency and kindness amongst people, this may seem scary indeed but still in return I appreciate and respect the very few 1% of this population that really thinks the way I do, that still respects and appreciates and prays sincerely from the bottom of their heart.

May people like you replicate and outgrow the ones that don't give a shit about anything but themselves.

Trends and Disceptions

0

#__

It's kind of sad to see how life has turned out to be when you finally grew up. I think it's the way people decided to live with what they have, they blindly inflict what they never thought would follow as children. No rational thinking has been performed, you simply hear them say over and over again "Everyone's doing it, it's the new trend."

That scares me all the time, it's a shame to want to go find a proper shirt these days and find none.

Where have all the decency went? It's just a shirt I'm looking for, a simple shirt nothing fancy, just a plain shirt, but it's really scary to admit to find none. Literally none, all you find is a piece of cloth that barely covers up what a shirt used to cover completely. What if I didn't want to show any skin, what if I wanted to keep my skin to myself, what if I just wanted to wear something normal? Where did I go in that customer demand market?  Producers have neglected us and saw as the minority that will not make any revenue, so instead of satisfying our desires, they simply erased us from their target market.

It's only 2018, and no decency is displayed. I fear for the day where a lot of skin starts to become the trend and I will have to stay at home to save my family.

I fear for that day everyday.

How will my nephews live in that era, how will my nieces grow to be? It's all from the family, but still you can never let them grow under your wings forever, the day where they start to blend in the environment will come, and that is when the real battle will begin. I believe it will be a hard one, only those strong will make it, but I wonder if parents at that time will be as strong as they say they will be.

Too Much Reading Was Never A Problem

0

© versebyversequranstudycircle.wordpress.com

The moment you start reading a lot, is the moment you start to be afraid of yourself. You read books about controlling emotions, books about living in the moment and books to accept who you are as you are and so forth. By time you notice yourself practicing skills you never thought you would, you see yourself very dedicated to ensure healthy thinking and not rushing through what might happen in the future because no one knows what is going to happen. You notice yourself puling yourself back to today, when you notice being afraid and emotional about things that will happen tomorrow, you remember that whatever you're feeling right now, whether you feel like crying or anxious, is eventually forced on yourself by yourself. You shiver to the thought of harming yourself, but you happen to be the one doing so with your thinking. Keep it to the day when it comes to calm yourself, but then what happens when that day has come? You can't help but give in to reality and accept your reactions and the harshness of life, somethings are always against our wills, there is nothing we can possibly do about them but respect the flow of time and that only time will heal.

Little did I know that I would be the one practicing all that, and eventually respecting that only time will heal, will it though?

Yes, it will because you feel it will and because you believe it will. The day where you look back at your current self will come and you will feel proud of how you mastered the strength to accept reality and move on.

Appreciating the journey to where ever it plans to take me.

I'm sorry my child

0

Dear child,

For everything I have done that you might not be aware of when you are older, at this moment I am going to take the chance to apologize. For what I have caused to you, and for being the reason of your failure in your life.

I wish I can change what you are now.

I wish I can go back in time

If only I listened to you

If only I controlled myself and my desires and enjoyed your every moment in my life.

If only..

I'm sorry my child...

I'm sorry my child...

I wonder if that is what parents these days are going to write for their children to read when they grow up and start to understand life, wouldn't that be at least some effort done by the parents to make it up for what they made their children go through for the sake of them enjoying some quality time together, without their infants? How are they going to cure their regret, and their pain when they can not go back in time and change....

Dearest child,

Stay with auntie for the time being until mommy comes back from her beauty appointment.

But I don't want to stay wit Auntie , I want to go with you mommy.

Auntie is going to play with you and show you really nice videos on her iPad.

Mom puts on her clothes and sneaks out of the house while her child is distracted with something else. What about me mom? I do not want to be left behind, take me with you

--------------------------------------------------------------------

My Love,

Mommy has to leave you with nana while she goes to the hospital and get your baby brother. You will have someone to play with when I am back, you will be the big boy and big brother :)

Really mommy, I wanna go with you to bring baby brother.

No Sweety, you have to stay here until I get back okay, love you.

But I do not want to stay with nana alone, can I stay with daddy?

No my love, daddy is busy with work, you have to stay with nana till daddy gets home.

But I wanna stay with daddy.

Mom sneaks out again while her lover cries his heart out wanting to go with her.

----------------------------------------------------------------------

We have come to the age where children became our setbacks from our desires and pleasures. They became the set backs that keep us from enjoying life the way we used to before we had them, we can not travel a lone the way we used to without having to bare the troubles of changing diapers, putting them to sleep and making sure they are not hungry anymore. But let us agree on one thing, as you pass through the different stages of your life, you are not going to live it the same way you used to, life of the singles is not like the life of the married and the life of the parent. The beauty though lies in the stages of you adapting to the changes in your life and embracing them, do not cause trouble and blame your kids for being your kids, if you did not have the courage and patience to raise them then why did you have them in the first place? It is not their fault, it is yours and yours alone, adapt to the changes and do not drop your kids and disregard them, they deserve all the attention and care god has given you the ability to share, it is not for you to keep it is for you to give and give and give.

Do not be their reason to an unhappy life and to their choice of depression and unloving people when they grow up, embrace the gifts you have from god and don't disregard them for your own pleasures. Don't prove yourselves to be unworthy of what you have, don't deform yourselves in shame in front of god.

A Child At Heart

What's interesting about life is the fact that you are meant to go through a lot while you  are alive. You are not supposed to expect to live happily ever after all you life, that does not add up to anything in your life records. What makes your life worth the living and reading if you start to write it down, is the struggles and problems you go through while you live. It is from them you take all your strengths and it is from them that you learn to beauty of actual living. You experience patience, pain, silence, and faith all together and while you do, you start to grow into a wiser person. That is the case only if you believe that everything happens for a pretty good reason, and whatever good you do is not to expect anything in return, in fact you do it to live happy and to feel good about yourself. That is all.

Never expect anything in return to whatever you do, if you do good then keep on doing it for nothing in return. On the contrary, avoid seeking harm and pain to the other people around you. If you think you can not say something nice, then don't speak at all. If you believe that you can not do something good to make it better then do not volunteer to make it worse. Keep it all to yourself unless it's something good that will contribute to making others happy.

I came to learn that everything happens for a reason, whether it's something we like or something we detest, if it's meant to be it will be regardless. I came to learn that a weak heart always wins, when a child starts to cry, feeling soft is not a bad thing. When a child that wants to be held is not held, you go and pick him/er up and hold them until their desire is satisfied, it is okay to do that. Sometimes an unexpected moment of silence is all that is needed. Children feel and understand even though they have not matured yet. They feel sad from time to time, they feel the urge to cry for no reason, that is okay. When they are in their ultimate point of joy is when I say "It is okay to be a child at heart". It is them tiny humans that show us the true meaning of life and teach us how to live and enjoy the moment. Let go of all the pain and guilt and hatred, be a child and live happily ever after.

When you want to do something unexpectedly, then do it. Try to avoid thinking about what has not happened and you "think it might" happen in the future because there is no guarantee that the future will arrive. It is all about the moment, although hard to live by but it is worth a try. Force yourself to think about now and live now, when you catch yourself thinking about the future, then look back and stay in the now. Before you run out of the now.

Everyday, All Year Long

0

People crave new beginnings, they always want a new opportunity, a new place, a new job or maybe a new partner to start from scratch. It is by human nature that most of us desire that, but not all of us know that we are the owners to new beginnings. It is us that decide when to start new, we do not have to wait for that someone to walk into our lives to change.

We do not have to wait for New Years to set new goals and start clean.

We do not have to get married to decide to live a new life.

We do not have to graduate high school to commit to being a better person.

We do not have to fall down to decide to change the way we are living.

We are blessed every single day with anew opportunity and a new start. Every morning marks the start of a new beginning, a new life, and a new challenge.  When will we come to accept that the "regular" is not really the regular any more. We are the owners of our choice, and we are the owners of our lives and going down the bottom, we are the ones who decide to either accept or reject new beginnings as we wake up every morning. Waking up every day with a mentality to doing something different, challenging yourself at work or school, or simply deciding to doing something new today, that is what a new day is all about. Mind it or not, we basically have 365 new opportunities all year round, and with this year just starting, I feel like I have already experienced  3 new experiences as of yet.

That is just how I view 2018 as it comes by, just like 2017, just like 2016 and all the rest that came before.

Thank you for giving me another reason to feel blessed this morning.

Rejection

0

We have always heard about rejections and not being accepted whether it's a job, or any other opportunity where a group of people are brought together to make one shine out the brightest. However, what we did not know is the feelings we get when we are rejected. If we made it through, did we really know what the other who did not make it through feel like? I don't really think so, the beauty of rejection is when you want something really bad, so bad you start to ache from the rejection you got, that is when you start to really work for it. That is when you do not stop like others, that is when you decide fuel yourself with that rejection and start to move forward and give it another try. I have come to learn that when you face set backs and obstacles, that is when you really know you wanted something really bad more than anything. Because you want it so bad, you start to get started on looking again and on working harder than you have the time before.

The beauty of it comes in you believing that you have a better chance to come, maybe it will be the next, maybe it will be after several trials and attempts, you never really know until you reach for it. Will you be rejected, and you will be criticized, but it is only the smart and persistent that really fuel up with that and move stronger than before to what they want.

It's part of life's race. Those who fall down and put in the effort to get back up, and those who want to give up because they are running out of energy, that is the beauty of this race.

There's a lot of people, but not so much that reach the end, their goals and desires.

Post it on the Internet

0

This way was expected decades ago.

People in the past feared its approach, but people living in its generation have no idea what is going on.

Several years ago, people feared the day technology will steal away a heartfelt conversation, and undoubtedly a loved one.

They used to pray for avoidance of this time, some are already gone, while others were perked to live in the most undesired generation.

"It's like living with the dead", some of them say. You go out for lunch with your friends and the first thing they want to do is take a picture of the restaurant's logo, then upload it on the internet. Next, they want to take a picture of all you together in what is called a "selfie" and also post in on the internet. Then things start to calm down and technology is put aside until the appetizers are placed in the middle of the table. Again, they take a picture of it and sometimes of them eating it and post it on the internet. Things start to calm down again with technology put aside while you enjoy the appetizer together.

"Phew, finally.", you think and start a decent conversation and enjoy the talks with your friends until the main courses start to roll onto the table and your dishes become this afternoon's person of interest and leading models.

"Why bother," you start to think to yourself and enjoy the meal on your own.

When you go home, you start to reminisce over the good old days, when a one hour lunch  break would extend to a two-three hour lunch break with laughs, talks and fun moments. Now, there is nothing like that anymore, it's all centered around "let me show them what I'm doing."

People do not enjoy a day out in the park without "showing them what they are doing.", they do not even enjoy a 45 minute yoga session before posting something online to "let them know that I'm doing Yoga tonight."

No wonder our ancestors feared this day, how did they know it was going to come?

The put in a little effort and made a study to conclude that.

Fearing the day when technology steals our loved ones away, and fearing the time where you decide to write a diary and look for a stranger to speak to hoping your language and vocabulary will not fade away with time.

Why?

How did we become slaves to technology?

It is not a bad thing to work hand-in-hand with it, but it sure is bad to live a life with technology alone and forget the world.

Wake up, before its too late.

The Beauty of Life

0

There will be times when you suddenly start to experience moments you never thought you would. You remember seeing them in movies and wonder what it feels like to be in their shoes, little did you know that life will grant that thought of yours and make it a reality.

Looks and expressions speak louder than words, but what makes them special is the fact that you understand those expressions from your perspective and not from theirs. Maybe they steal a glimpse of you for a reason other than the one you think you know of. What makes you feel helpless is your persistence to not cross the line and find yourself doing what you shouldn’t, but all that you can do is let them know of what life has grown into you. Sometimes you can not do what your heart desires, yet all you have left is the simplicity of words and the huge impact they can hold. It takes  a lot of effort to control yourself, from this experience you get to learn that you really have grown into a good person. Now that is not to brag about, that is for you to praise yourself for what you have become. It is because you grew into learning what was right from what was wrong, and because you were raised that way. Of course it all started with your parents, if you don't have them around, then it's one of them. The least you can do when you grew into the person you are right now is appreciate the effort and time they spent on you, to make you who you are right now.

This is the beauty of life, it is then that you start to feel the beautiful sensation of being a grown up. Seeing what it is like to be on the outside, a place that is not so peaceful like home, a place that is filled with masked people, a place that is filled with experiences that will help you become a better person and more importantly help you grow.

Again, this is the beauty of life, being able to sit back and watch the world spin around you. Watch the people do what they want to do, and have yourself learn from what is wrong and praise what is right and keep it.

That is the beauty of life indeed.

There Is No Difference

0

Over time, you come to learn that it is not all about how old you are or what position you are holding at the moment. It's all about what you grew up doing and how you were initially taught in life. How you were raised and on what basis, sometimes I sit back and think about being in someone else's shoes. Although I wouldn't trade my pair of shoes for anyone else's but I usually tend to sit in a public place and watch all those different minds wandering around maybe with a life goal or just carelessly. I have been blessed with a wonderful life all thanks to my mother, and I came to learn to appreciate everything and thank god for everything so sometimes I watch people and wonder.

If you consider age as an example, then life have brought be across a lot of grown up people that have experience life more than I have, but sadly they do not seem to be thinking right or even for the least, "logically".

If you consider the level of education, then that is no exception at all. It is true that the more you learn, the more you know and the better you understand. However, if you start to look at it partially from a different perspective, some people who have not received the gift of education turned out to be more life survivors than people who have been blessed with the best education. They happen to understand and help others from life, they taught me that not everything in life is in books. Sometimes you do not need books to live, you actually should not believe that in order to live you have to study, no it's actually the other way around. In order to live life the way it should be lived, you need to study if you get the chance, if you do not get the chance then you need to live life with morally and ethically. A lot of literate people have taught us what life is all about without reading about it in books, a lot have changed the world without knowing how to read a book, and a lot have positively impacted the human race without knowing to write a word. In the end it is all a matter of acceptance, appreciation of anything you have, and faith in god.

It doesn't matter what you do for a living, or what level of education you have completed, just know that all of this is useless if you start to live with no goals and start to treat people like they work for you. Just remember that in the end we will all fall into the same place and we all have the same parents down in history, also do not forget that in the end we are all literally the same. There is no difference between us, all of us are humans, all of us were put in this life test for a reason, and all of us will meet again when our time is over here.

They Were Right

0

© thedolcediet.com

Growing up, we were living with the thoughts that everything is really easy to do, it just needed a little courage from our side to achieve. However, little did we know about what it really took for all the elders around us to make life seem so simple and easy. Little did we know about the time they spent finding the easy solution for us, the most enjoyable one for us to understand, and the simplest act for us to stand up and talk... little did we really know indeed. They spent most of their time, usually days working on a project for us to dissolve it from that huge complicated one to the tiny one we saw was very easy to do. We thought when we grew up, we would easily find our way on our own, we would easily make it through, little did we know, indeed.

It finally is true, what they used to say, once you grow up you will thank me, once you grow up you will learn and know what it takes. All it needed was to grow up, and we finally did, and what conclusion did we fall into: "They were right."

If there's anything you want to be, anything you want to do, or anything you want to get, you will definitely have to work day and night to get to it, some say you have to give up sleep to get to where you want. Are they right? Is that true? Damn right it is.

They used to make fun of all the dreams and ambitions you have, most of the time we heard people say "Dreams? They never come true.". Some people say they don't, other believe they do, but have they witnessed dreams come true? That, I am not sure about, but one thing's definite and for sure : I have seem dreams come true right before my very own eyes.  After that being witnessed, I had faith in dreams even more, because at some point if I crave my path towards my dreams, I will make them happen, and that is definite.

Don't just sit there and dream all you want, sit there and dream all you want and work your way to get there, take that step that will be the breaking point between your courage and hesitance, and one day you will look back and pat yourself on the back for being courageous at least once in your life so far.

Numbers won't change your life

0

Image result for Quotes about change
© Pintrest
It's been 2017 and a fresh new year for sometime now, however it doesn't really feel like a new year as in a new resolution, a new me or a new anything for that matter. It's quite funny and ironic how people pray that a number is going to be that marker of their lives, how a number can change their lives to the better, to the worse of simply stay as it is. Praying to a number to give you the best you ever deserved or the best you've ever wanted is never going to happen, reality speaks harsh but it's the truth. Several times across twitter, I can across this face-slamming quote said by one of my followers, he simply said "If you want anything from 2017, then don't ask it, ask Allah." because it's true. I wonder if I ask my journal to help me publish my book, would that happen? Ha, not at all.

You see, you are given a whole new opportunity every single day to do the best you can and change whatever you want to change every day, what else more do you want? Personally speaking, it's just a huge blessing for me to get a chance to wake up the next morning and live up my new opportunity to the best I can because unlike some portion of the population, they weren't given this second chance at all.  A new year is simply another wake up call for you to make a difference, but it's not the motive to do so, because just like the last year if you start setting up resolutions but not really convinced by them and simply not wanting to change the way you think, then why waste and write a plan? There is no harm in writing a plan, the problem is simply within you, yourself. Change the way you think, change the way you see the world and change your routine for a better version of yourself, take that step with strict determination and passion and you're going to see that it's not really the new year that's bringing the best in you, it's simply you bringing the best in yourself, isn't that beautiful? Yes, I bet it is.

If you really want to see how useless your resolutions are when you want everything in the world but you're there sitting on the couch facing your laptop, then take a moment to look at the people working in the market in your district, or the people working at Malls, where you spend most of your time, hopefully not. Not any workers, but the ones focused on cleaning, trash emptying and all that work you disregard, they are the ones knowing how to make the best of their day, when you look at them, they simply live the worst life from your perspective, but how do they still have the energy and courage to give you smile? It is those people that despite the hell they're going through, that give you the smile are said to be the strongest, happiest and bravest.

Do not disregard your blessings and be ungrateful, because what you have at the moment, has been lost by someone else, someone else prayers to go back in time and thank Allah for all that's been given to them, just because they forgot to be thankful, forgot to enjoy that moment where they had it all because they were busy wanting more, it's okay to want more, but it's not okay to forget what you have, what your blessed with, what's around you at this very split moment, all it takes is being thankful and grateful.

From Strangers to Family

0

© quotefancy.com

A writer once said that people walk into your life for a fairly unknown reason that each side is unaware of. However, God is the only party in this game that really knows why people really walk into your life and at some point eventually walk out of it. The reason being so is that he is the one who made this meeting possible, he is the one that at some point in your lives, you met certain people, and after sometime one of you had to go separate ways. No, it's not "love" as you think it is, it's not a relationship, when we say one of you had to go separate ways, we refer to the act of finding your dreams in another place, or ending a chapter of your life in one place and deciding to continue your legacy some other place. Yes, that's more like it.

You meet people in the most random of ways and in the weirdest of places, where you never thought you'd meet them. That's the beauty of interconnection and a change in your life. The beauty lies when you welcome this meeting with open arms and accept the fact that God brought you people together to either learn from one another, or to give yourself a chance to become a better you, or to stand up and finally make that daring change you have always hesitated to do. This is why the saying of "people walk into your lives do so for a fairly wonderful reason, only time will reveal." The problem lies in the time where suddenly life decides to make you go separate ways, you don't get to sit and talk to that person like before, you don't get to learn something or teach something, worst of all that person is no longer in that place you have always cherished to visit. This is when you discover that whoever God decided to make a path for in your life has become more than a friend, they started to feel more like family, a family member you never thought you'd have and a family member that is more precious and cherished than blood itself. But when you decide to look at the bright side, you feel really blessed of getting the opportunity to make a difference in their life and to actually meet them at some point in your life, that's simply wonderful. However it really does not overtake the feeling of helplessness and not having the ability to make a difference, this is where you start to apply healthy thinking as said by the outstanding Richard Carlson where he mentions that by having the ability to acknowledge that your sad and negative thoughts are only temporary and shall not pass, you are able to limit your negative thoughts that lead to different additional sets of other negative thoughts, that's the beauty of controlling the way you think to avoid harming yourself. The mere reason being is that most people don't really know that they are the ones causing sadness, and depression on themselves because of their thoughts and thinking. Look at the bright side and know that you are only harming yourself by forming a negative thought of a very simple sad thought that leads to a lot of damage to your mental health.

Acknowledge that although that family member is leaving to pursue another chapter in their life to carry on with their book, you should feel really satisfied by having the chance and opportunity to know that person that quickly became a family member when they were only a stranger. That's more than a blessing to me.

No one is really meant to stay by your side forever, this is life. Although people come and go in your life, their love and affection never leaves with them. Those feelings are all that's left along with the memories you make, this is why you were meant to cherish every single moment with such family members because deep down inside you realise that someday one of you shall move on with their life and all that's left are those pictures that now form memories that make you smile whenever you look at them.

Adventures Ahead

0

The beauty behind the so called adventures of Life is not knowing what is ahead of you, that is mainly accompanied with fear and sometimes disappointment. That should not be the case although it usually is, fearing that something might happen or what if that happens, this falls down to living in the "what-ifs". However, that's not what we should be doing right now the reason for that being is because we will be wasting our time thinking of what  the future might hold for us. "Might" is the secret key word in this case because it implies to uncertainty, that is no fun way to live Life.

As humans of different thoughts, escapes and lives, we usually tend to forget a lot and if we're lucky enough to do the right thing "Live Moment." We usually take breaks from our regular routines and if we're risky enough , we'd decide to take the risk itself for a sudden change. I've been away from writing for quite sometime now, was it against my will though or did I simply decide to stop writing for some time? Neither is the case, it was mainly that period of time where you decide to spill all your thoughts in this virtual journal and feel great about it yet you simply do not get the chance to do so.

We all have a story we'd rather not share, but because it makes us feel strong we decide to master the courage and speak it out. Reality strikes real hard when you least expect it to, Life out of the blue decides to teach you a lesson and put you on the spot, again when you least expect it to. How many of us heard of the "Life is not easy" phrase and "You really have to be strong enough to stand up for yourself and experience the difficulties of first times". I bet we all heard them at least several times during our lifetime so far. But did we really know what they mean or simply how they felt? I shall bet and doubt as well on that.

When you think of the people you love and care about, there are some times where they eventually turn out to be helpless, just like you. Simply incapable, however, they show you that they're there to do what's in their strengths to do. But have you thought of god? The one and only who is capable of it all, who is never going to leave your side? Allah is indeed the one and only all mighty.  In times of need when people can do nothing to make things better, literally nothing, and when they have to leave you standing alone because it's the way things should be, only the strong believers will know that they really are not as a lone as they think they are. Never will they ever be alone because we are not meant to be alone when we believe in the one and only Allah. It is only when you truly experience the beauty of Allah being there with you in times of need is when you pray blissfully and endlessly thank him for giving you yet another chance.

As the days pass, we lose the ones we cared about, it hurts like hell. Feeling helpless, and simply hurting, keeping it as that the only thing you gotta do and can do is pray for strength and stronger faith.

Keeping it as that, you only gotta pray and stay strong because that's what Life is all about.

Life

"Life : The existence of an individual human being or animal" - Google

As human beings, we all want to make sure we’re living the “life of our dreams.” Some want to have all the money in the world to pamper themselves and buy their own happiness, others want to impress fellow ones, some are modest and wise and want to help others. In the end, it’s “life” we always seek to build, renovate, and live in. Little did we know that as we work on achieving that “Life” of ours, we maybe wasting our times. In that process, we fail to appreciate the time we spend together at that split instant, we fail to appreciate the loved ones surrounding us at that instant, the love-filled atmosphere, the fun and bubbly moment that cracks us out with laughs we can’t even breath through, the beauty of our front yard, and the feeling of being blessed. We fail to appreciate it all and that is a mistake a very few of us recognise.

People go through a lot of ups and downs, and it is the downs that make you stop for a moment and understand your purpose in life. In simple terms, you are not meant to stay here forever. There is no forever in it. Hence, “losing” gets in the picture. It is the path we decide to follow that determines what awaits us next.

You have to take a moment and wake up before it’s too late. You have to believe and have a lot of faith, a lot of faith is what you really need to give you the strength to make it through regardless. But do bare this in mind, losing a loved one does not mean you lose them forever, you just lose them in Life, but you get to meet them again under Allah’s will in a place no single soul has ever imagined could exist, nothing from all the goodness and wealth of Life put together can match up to what awaits us there. It all lies down in your hands and in your faith, which has to be strong and solid. Otherwise, you will fall into the deepest pit of weakness and depression which will make your remaining days painful to bare.

Build up your faith always ask for strength. Strength and strong faith is what you should seek and ask for. Nothing more.

Acceptance, Difference, and Change

There's a universal fact that makes us similar, and a universal thought that makes us different in a sense that's quite impressive. Us, humans or people which ever you prefer to use, are descendants of the same parents, yet we come in different colours and different places with different beliefs. Believe it or not, our beliefs are what's making us different. Imagine going on a trip around the world, the best part of that journey will be you experiencing different cultures, seeing different places and exploring different beliefs. Wanting to know what other people's beliefs are is out of respect for them because you would want to know what is alright and what is not in terms of clothing's, gestures and so forth.

Regardless of us being different individuals in many aspects, we still have that one point that makes most of us similar, we care about one another. Not in any weird or odd point that is, we're considering the relative aspect of "caring" and that is when your parents point out a con you should maybe try and work on changing, or a beautiful trait you should work on keeping and developing. As humans, it is of our very natural feelings to like someone saying good phrases about us, it's how we are, we simply like being praised, like being in the spotlight every once in a while. On the contrary, we do not really like being told that something we do is not really polite and in better terms, not right. That is where you should pay very good attention because not everyone is going to do that to you, though everyone is going to praise you even with the slightest gesture you do. It is the people that do not praise you and point out that there's something you should work on changing are the ones that you should keep close and respect that most because they are the ones that care.

When it comes to being pointed out, you fall into deep thoughts of conflict, "how can that be disrespectful?" or thinking something like "but what did I do wrong?". Well this is where others come into the picture, it was proven that people by nature see themselves as semi-perfect people and everything they do is right and fits the picture, they also happen to consider others that do not think like them and do not agree to what they have to say as being "aliens" for a better example. Well, that's basically the reason we're different. The people that care the most about you are the ones that are going to tell you about that one thing you should maybe try and not do, or maybe try to avoid saying to others, although you find absolutely no problem with but others actually help you point out the flaws that will make you a better person. Maybe you should work on changing the way you react to things, that could sound odd but maybe you're reacting in a way that makes it look like a war just broke out, and that implies "overreacting" in a sense. Maybe you should work on becoming a better listener to other and not just want to be the one talking and force others to listen to you. You see if you look at it from all perspectives, you are not perfect in any sense, as a matter of fact none of us as perfect, ever. But that does not mean we do not work on making ourselves better people. Every single day that passes by is never coming back, it's another chance from God to make yourself change into becoming better, into living better, and most importantly into appreciating the people that helped you fixing your flaws in some sense, it might hurt at first, but do bare this in mind once and for all, it's for your own good.

Those who want to change are really those that are living in satisfaction and pleasure, because they are not sticking to that same old boring self they are ever single day with no "updates" in any sense, they're the ones running this world.

  • Overview
Elizabeth Egan is too busy for friends. As a reluctant mother to her sister Saoirse's young son Luke and her own business to run, every precious moment is made to count.

But with Saoirse crashing in and out of their lives, leaving both her sister and her son reeling, Luke and Elizabeth are desperately in need of some magic.

Enter Ivan. Wild, spontaneous and always looking for adventure, in no time at all Ivan has changed Elizabeth in ways she could never have imagined. But is Ivan too good to be true? has Elizabeth opened her heart only to risk it being broken again?

As for Ivan, he thought he was there to help Luke, not Elizabeth - or himself....

  • Review
There's this something about Cecelia's writing that attracts me. The way she writes brings in a very lovely feeling to her books regardless.  As always, I've been encouraged to read this book after reading the "mysterious" brief overview at the back of book, as I began reading through the book, it felt kind of weird because suddenly I did not know what to expect from it. There was no  mention of imaginary friends to myself whatsoever and when Luke met Ivan -or probably the other way round- I remember thinking to myself "What kind of story is this all of a sudden?". I do admit to wanting to put it back on my and go for another book till I have the desire back to finish it off but that's when Ivan's identity began to grow bigger and I thought to myself "What fabulous twist is this?". That was very different and very unexpected to be honest, when Ivan suddenly turned out not to be a six year old, that's when I started to figure his presence all in all for Elizabeth. I felt really bad for her, she was sacrificing so much and not living her life for herself but living it for her family, especially her sister who didn't really care in anyway. That was sad, but once Ivan popped out, I could feel the difference and in Elizabeth and the life coming into Elizabeth's life once again, that was really lovely.

"Mistake number two: when sliding it onto her wrist, I felt myself give her a little piece of my heart." That shattered me to pieces literally. Poor Ivan, such a great ending though.

At the end of this book, you get to realise the beauty and innocence of children. It's a wonderful world, that tiny world of theirs, with a lot of giggles, jokes and peace to be honest. This is why one should take that tiny world of their very seriously because their world is what's important. Once they grow out of it, that's when they join in the adult world where life lacks all the innocence, peaceful joy and giggles.  Luke was such a lovely understanding boy for a six year old. So much respect for him really <3

Ivan's personality was very outgoing and bubbly, I found myself smiling and laughing at some parts while reading the book because he was portrayed as the best friend you would always want to hang out around because that friend brought out the best of you. He simply teaches you to live your life with not limits, not boring routines, and full of colors and joy. That's the fun of it really because in the end people should simply "Make Believe".

A talk at a conference

0

“Let me tell ya. You gotta pay attention to signs. When life reaches out with a moment like this it's a sin if you don't reach back... I'm telling you.”  - Mathew Quick, The Silver Linings Playbook

With my undergraduate years coming to an end, I have to admit to reminiscing over all the hard/good times I've spent over the past few years that seem like forever. Regardless of all that, nothing beats the great opportunities I was given before wrapping up my undergrad years. Never did I imagine myself standing in front of a crowd of professionals and talking about what I have done with my group. That was a moment beyond what I had in mind, never did it cross my mind whatsoever.

As we started wrapping up our final senior project, our adviser got us hooked up with various conferences that seemed too off bound to us, little did we know that he was opening doors to those well-known "once-in-a-lifetime" experiences.  It was sometime during October that we began really working on submitting our work for the IEEE EDUCON 2016 conference, it didn't seem like a big deal then, but our adviser insisted that we join , he must've been very satisfied with our work, that felt good considering all the hardships we faced to bring it about. The conference was scheduled sometime at the beginning of April, that was a long time from October, so we didn't really care much about it.

The months passed and the semester was over, before we knew it, it was finally April, and it was presentation day. The entire day was like a dream, I ended being the one everyone wanted to present. My adviser, and my group of friends, threw it all on me. I personally have no problem working out a presentation, but on such a huge event , that was a burden I did not know and did not think I could handle. At work, things began to get serious, that wasn't the time for them to get serious because it was time for the conference, at the last minute I was going to cancel and not present. Now that was not planned, was it work first or the hard work I put in since October or maybe months behind? At that time I did not know what to do, eventually I ended up doing the presentation because I basically had no choice whatsoever. How was it? I don't really remember.

All I remember was the dim lights and very calm room, a group of what? 10 people maybe? All of whom were way to experience than my little child-like being standing in front of them. "Don't be too technical, remember they are not me" Nothing pressured me more than that one phrase my adviser always told me before every presentation, how was I going to make it simple? I did not want to waste my time presenting talking about something the audience had no idea what I was saying, but that was the fun of it. It's always a challenge trying to talk outside the box and present your work from multiple points of view. I found that really nice, poor German guy presenting before me. I did not know how/when he started talking because as he walked his way through his presentation, nothing seemed to make sense,  but it was good of him to successfully make it till the end because that's when I was up next, maybe that's the reason I had no idea what he was talking about...probably.

When it was time to present, it was one of those times where you have no idea what's going on, what you're saying or what you're doing, it was simply great. The environment and atmosphere were very encouraging and from the intensive looks I got from the audience, I think I did a great job having them pay attention to my presentation, I have no idea how or why they bothered to actually show interest, that was fascinating really. The feedback afterwards was not expected, it was simply positive and it made me feel really good about myself and I just thought "Yes! I think I did a great job delivering the objectives out of the box", it was a challenge but a very warm one.

If it weren't for my adviser I wouldn't of got the chance to experience what it was like to be part of an international conference where my I was literally the very only local presenter presenting. That was just huge,  it felt like I had to change what everyone had engraved about my people, we are not incapable people when it comes to academics and we really exist, it's the least we can do to give back and I was really satisfied with myself when I was given the chance to give back and change a whole image about us.

To my one and only advisor, thank you.
