When there is nothing you can do but listen

0

As you grow up, and start to grasp your surroundings  and the events that unleash in front of you, you start to appreciate the beauty of being a child. The innocence and ignorance and the unconditional love and joy you used to spread all over the place. When you look at your siblings now, and where they have decided to proceed in life, you start to sit back and just watch. Sometimes you wonder "Why did they become like this, this isn't right." then you start to question "What did she do to deserve this miserable life." but then with this second thought in mind you come to learn that it is meant to be for her like this, for her future is going to be bright and she will not suffer anymore.

I have to admit that this is quite difficult to experience, yet again it is a wonderful feeling. Although there is nothing you can do to change the situation, the idea that you are actually there for them, simply just to hear them out and let them talk all they want is a blessing. In return you do want to make it better, but you have to tell them it's okay, it's going to be okay you just have to wait a little more. It's hard to do, but makes that sensation rush over you that you have done a difference, you have patted their back and made them know they're not alone.

It will get better, but it's going to take some time.

It will change, but it's going to take some effort and time.

It will make her happy, but it's going to take some effort, effort, and more time.

In the end it requires strength, and the strength god have given you has put you in these situation because god knows you're fit enough to handle it all.

Be patient, and a little stronger...it will get better...nothing lasts forever.

The minor vs The major

Everyday you wake up, it's a blessing. Yes, a blessing everyone knows that but not everyone appreciates it. What makes up this blessing is the fact the you were given a new day to live, and to make a difference in this world.

When you start your day with a prayer, you know you will be alright throughout the day. Yet again, everyone prays in the morning for their desires, but not everyone prays consciously.

These days, respect seems to be lacking in our actions. Everything we do, we're missing something important, appreciation and respect. We seem to forget that the people we work with, and the ones serving us are actually people in return. They have their own lives, their own issues, and their own concerns. We seem to lack notice of that and think the world revolve around ourselves only. Why do we forget that these people may be having a bad day and are forcing themselves to smile and serve us with their best, why do we seem to forget that they maybe experiencing the best day of their lives and forget to say something nice just to add a little more joy to their lives? Why does this seem too hard to perform?

Funny to mention, it is way too easy to show off and dive into other people's private lives. It is also way too easy to follow the trends and the latest hypocrisy trends, yet too hard to show appreciation and to respect..what is this turning us into...monsters day by day.

This scares me of the day future becomes near, and their is no decency and kindness amongst people, this may seem scary indeed but still in return I appreciate and respect the very few 1% of this population that really thinks the way I do, that still respects and appreciates and prays sincerely from the bottom of their heart.

May people like you replicate and outgrow the ones that don't give a shit about anything but themselves.

Trends and Disceptions

0

#__

It's kind of sad to see how life has turned out to be when you finally grew up. I think it's the way people decided to live with what they have, they blindly inflict what they never thought would follow as children. No rational thinking has been performed, you simply hear them say over and over again "Everyone's doing it, it's the new trend."

That scares me all the time, it's a shame to want to go find a proper shirt these days and find none.

Where have all the decency went? It's just a shirt I'm looking for, a simple shirt nothing fancy, just a plain shirt, but it's really scary to admit to find none. Literally none, all you find is a piece of cloth that barely covers up what a shirt used to cover completely. What if I didn't want to show any skin, what if I wanted to keep my skin to myself, what if I just wanted to wear something normal? Where did I go in that customer demand market?  Producers have neglected us and saw as the minority that will not make any revenue, so instead of satisfying our desires, they simply erased us from their target market.

It's only 2018, and no decency is displayed. I fear for the day where a lot of skin starts to become the trend and I will have to stay at home to save my family.

I fear for that day everyday.

How will my nephews live in that era, how will my nieces grow to be? It's all from the family, but still you can never let them grow under your wings forever, the day where they start to blend in the environment will come, and that is when the real battle will begin. I believe it will be a hard one, only those strong will make it, but I wonder if parents at that time will be as strong as they say they will be.

Too Much Reading Was Never A Problem

0

© versebyversequranstudycircle.wordpress.com

The moment you start reading a lot, is the moment you start to be afraid of yourself. You read books about controlling emotions, books about living in the moment and books to accept who you are as you are and so forth. By time you notice yourself practicing skills you never thought you would, you see yourself very dedicated to ensure healthy thinking and not rushing through what might happen in the future because no one knows what is going to happen. You notice yourself puling yourself back to today, when you notice being afraid and emotional about things that will happen tomorrow, you remember that whatever you're feeling right now, whether you feel like crying or anxious, is eventually forced on yourself by yourself. You shiver to the thought of harming yourself, but you happen to be the one doing so with your thinking. Keep it to the day when it comes to calm yourself, but then what happens when that day has come? You can't help but give in to reality and accept your reactions and the harshness of life, somethings are always against our wills, there is nothing we can possibly do about them but respect the flow of time and that only time will heal.

Little did I know that I would be the one practicing all that, and eventually respecting that only time will heal, will it though?

Yes, it will because you feel it will and because you believe it will. The day where you look back at your current self will come and you will feel proud of how you mastered the strength to accept reality and move on.

Appreciating the journey to where ever it plans to take me.

Everyday, All Year Long

0

People crave new beginnings, they always want a new opportunity, a new place, a new job or maybe a new partner to start from scratch. It is by human nature that most of us desire that, but not all of us know that we are the owners to new beginnings. It is us that decide when to start new, we do not have to wait for that someone to walk into our lives to change.

We do not have to wait for New Years to set new goals and start clean.

We do not have to get married to decide to live a new life.

We do not have to graduate high school to commit to being a better person.

We do not have to fall down to decide to change the way we are living.

We are blessed every single day with anew opportunity and a new start. Every morning marks the start of a new beginning, a new life, and a new challenge.  When will we come to accept that the "regular" is not really the regular any more. We are the owners of our choice, and we are the owners of our lives and going down the bottom, we are the ones who decide to either accept or reject new beginnings as we wake up every morning. Waking up every day with a mentality to doing something different, challenging yourself at work or school, or simply deciding to doing something new today, that is what a new day is all about. Mind it or not, we basically have 365 new opportunities all year round, and with this year just starting, I feel like I have already experienced  3 new experiences as of yet.

That is just how I view 2018 as it comes by, just like 2017, just like 2016 and all the rest that came before.

Thank you for giving me another reason to feel blessed this morning.

The Beauty of Life

0

There will be times when you suddenly start to experience moments you never thought you would. You remember seeing them in movies and wonder what it feels like to be in their shoes, little did you know that life will grant that thought of yours and make it a reality.

Looks and expressions speak louder than words, but what makes them special is the fact that you understand those expressions from your perspective and not from theirs. Maybe they steal a glimpse of you for a reason other than the one you think you know of. What makes you feel helpless is your persistence to not cross the line and find yourself doing what you shouldn’t, but all that you can do is let them know of what life has grown into you. Sometimes you can not do what your heart desires, yet all you have left is the simplicity of words and the huge impact they can hold. It takes  a lot of effort to control yourself, from this experience you get to learn that you really have grown into a good person. Now that is not to brag about, that is for you to praise yourself for what you have become. It is because you grew into learning what was right from what was wrong, and because you were raised that way. Of course it all started with your parents, if you don't have them around, then it's one of them. The least you can do when you grew into the person you are right now is appreciate the effort and time they spent on you, to make you who you are right now.

This is the beauty of life, it is then that you start to feel the beautiful sensation of being a grown up. Seeing what it is like to be on the outside, a place that is not so peaceful like home, a place that is filled with masked people, a place that is filled with experiences that will help you become a better person and more importantly help you grow.

Again, this is the beauty of life, being able to sit back and watch the world spin around you. Watch the people do what they want to do, and have yourself learn from what is wrong and praise what is right and keep it.

That is the beauty of life indeed.

They Were Right

0

© thedolcediet.com

Growing up, we were living with the thoughts that everything is really easy to do, it just needed a little courage from our side to achieve. However, little did we know about what it really took for all the elders around us to make life seem so simple and easy. Little did we know about the time they spent finding the easy solution for us, the most enjoyable one for us to understand, and the simplest act for us to stand up and talk... little did we really know indeed. They spent most of their time, usually days working on a project for us to dissolve it from that huge complicated one to the tiny one we saw was very easy to do. We thought when we grew up, we would easily find our way on our own, we would easily make it through, little did we know, indeed.

It finally is true, what they used to say, once you grow up you will thank me, once you grow up you will learn and know what it takes. All it needed was to grow up, and we finally did, and what conclusion did we fall into: "They were right."

If there's anything you want to be, anything you want to do, or anything you want to get, you will definitely have to work day and night to get to it, some say you have to give up sleep to get to where you want. Are they right? Is that true? Damn right it is.

They used to make fun of all the dreams and ambitions you have, most of the time we heard people say "Dreams? They never come true.". Some people say they don't, other believe they do, but have they witnessed dreams come true? That, I am not sure about, but one thing's definite and for sure : I have seem dreams come true right before my very own eyes.  After that being witnessed, I had faith in dreams even more, because at some point if I crave my path towards my dreams, I will make them happen, and that is definite.

Don't just sit there and dream all you want, sit there and dream all you want and work your way to get there, take that step that will be the breaking point between your courage and hesitance, and one day you will look back and pat yourself on the back for being courageous at least once in your life so far.

From Strangers to Family

0

© quotefancy.com

A writer once said that people walk into your life for a fairly unknown reason that each side is unaware of. However, God is the only party in this game that really knows why people really walk into your life and at some point eventually walk out of it. The reason being so is that he is the one who made this meeting possible, he is the one that at some point in your lives, you met certain people, and after sometime one of you had to go separate ways. No, it's not "love" as you think it is, it's not a relationship, when we say one of you had to go separate ways, we refer to the act of finding your dreams in another place, or ending a chapter of your life in one place and deciding to continue your legacy some other place. Yes, that's more like it.

You meet people in the most random of ways and in the weirdest of places, where you never thought you'd meet them. That's the beauty of interconnection and a change in your life. The beauty lies when you welcome this meeting with open arms and accept the fact that God brought you people together to either learn from one another, or to give yourself a chance to become a better you, or to stand up and finally make that daring change you have always hesitated to do. This is why the saying of "people walk into your lives do so for a fairly wonderful reason, only time will reveal." The problem lies in the time where suddenly life decides to make you go separate ways, you don't get to sit and talk to that person like before, you don't get to learn something or teach something, worst of all that person is no longer in that place you have always cherished to visit. This is when you discover that whoever God decided to make a path for in your life has become more than a friend, they started to feel more like family, a family member you never thought you'd have and a family member that is more precious and cherished than blood itself. But when you decide to look at the bright side, you feel really blessed of getting the opportunity to make a difference in their life and to actually meet them at some point in your life, that's simply wonderful. However it really does not overtake the feeling of helplessness and not having the ability to make a difference, this is where you start to apply healthy thinking as said by the outstanding Richard Carlson where he mentions that by having the ability to acknowledge that your sad and negative thoughts are only temporary and shall not pass, you are able to limit your negative thoughts that lead to different additional sets of other negative thoughts, that's the beauty of controlling the way you think to avoid harming yourself. The mere reason being is that most people don't really know that they are the ones causing sadness, and depression on themselves because of their thoughts and thinking. Look at the bright side and know that you are only harming yourself by forming a negative thought of a very simple sad thought that leads to a lot of damage to your mental health.

Acknowledge that although that family member is leaving to pursue another chapter in their life to carry on with their book, you should feel really satisfied by having the chance and opportunity to know that person that quickly became a family member when they were only a stranger. That's more than a blessing to me.

No one is really meant to stay by your side forever, this is life. Although people come and go in your life, their love and affection never leaves with them. Those feelings are all that's left along with the memories you make, this is why you were meant to cherish every single moment with such family members because deep down inside you realise that someday one of you shall move on with their life and all that's left are those pictures that now form memories that make you smile whenever you look at them.

Life

0

"Life : The existence of an individual human being or animal" - Google

As human beings, we all want to make sure we’re living the “life of our dreams.” Some want to have all the money in the world to pamper themselves and buy their own happiness, others want to impress fellow ones, some are modest and wise and want to help others. In the end, it’s “life” we always seek to build, renovate, and live in. Little did we know that as we work on achieving that “Life” of ours, we maybe wasting our times. In that process, we fail to appreciate the time we spend together at that split instant, we fail to appreciate the loved ones surrounding us at that instant, the love-filled atmosphere, the fun and bubbly moment that cracks us out with laughs we can’t even breath through, the beauty of our front yard, and the feeling of being blessed. We fail to appreciate it all and that is a mistake a very few of us recognise.

People go through a lot of ups and downs, and it is the downs that make you stop for a moment and understand your purpose in life. In simple terms, you are not meant to stay here forever. There is no forever in it. Hence, “losing” gets in the picture. It is the path we decide to follow that determines what awaits us next.

You have to take a moment and wake up before it’s too late. You have to believe and have a lot of faith, a lot of faith is what you really need to give you the strength to make it through regardless. But do bare this in mind, losing a loved one does not mean you lose them forever, you just lose them in Life, but you get to meet them again under Allah’s will in a place no single soul has ever imagined could exist, nothing from all the goodness and wealth of Life put together can match up to what awaits us there. It all lies down in your hands and in your faith, which has to be strong and solid. Otherwise, you will fall into the deepest pit of weakness and depression which will make your remaining days painful to bare.

Build up your faith always ask for strength. Strength and strong faith is what you should seek and ask for. Nothing more.

Being Different

0

When you take a moment and think of what you are at the moment, so many thoughts come rushing down all at once. You think of where you stand and how you really got there, and most importantly, are you satisfied with where you stand? How you got there is a mere reason for discouragement and it doesn't really matter. How you got there, is the one secret you keep to yourself and share with no one else because it was you who experienced it all. Do bare in mind that "how you got there"  is like the key that only you make. We can all be working together, and we can all be working towards that one same goal, but we are never doing the same thing to get to it. That's the mere beauty of it all. It may sound a little odd, but it really is the best part of standing there.

Taking the simplest example of being a writer, everyone writes these days. have it being perfectly written, or simply the worst you've ever written, everyone writes at some point. The question is, how do you really write? That's what makes a difference. It's quite funny and exciting when you think of it, we can all be graduates standing in one line, but then it all comes down to what you gave and what it took to be standing in that line. That's what being humans is all about. You could be identical twins and no one can literally tell you apart, but there is that black spot that will make you both different.

Through the worst of times, the times when you're feeling like you've had enough with all the pressure and work, what gets you to enjoy that bitter-sweet moment is the thought that whatever is spent in that time will be a memory at some point worth laughing at. That's why you should find joy in the simplest and toughest of moments because regardless of how good or how awful they are, they will be a source of jokes and a source of sentimental feelings of achievements.

A little effort would do

0

"If so, then you know you can go your whole life collecting days, and none will outweigh the one you wish you had back.” Mitch Albom

Over the past few weeks I've been keeping myself busy with all sorts of things. There's been a lot of reading for sure, writing, and many more. I've enrolled myself in a few online courses to broaden my knowledge in a few technological fields to keep myself updated and on the go for something new. This past week was supposed to be the very first week of work, however that had to be postponed for some confidential reason we should not worry about. Moving on.

There are a few things that sometimes inspire me, impress me and shock me. What I'm going to write about in this post is surprisingly a mix of all three. There was this workshop about teamwork that I have decided to attend during this past week. The best parts about attending such workshops is the experience of sitting in an auditorium with a multi-major audience who's got so much to say and so much to argue about since everyone's literally got a different point of view. Some can agree, other can disagree, and others can simply negotiate in a friendly manner. Anyways, this workshop usually spans a 5 day period, yet it was narrowed down for a 4 hour session so that was understandable and quite beneficial. We were given the opportunity to dig in with the talk and ask whatever we wanted to ask. On my personal preference, I simply enjoyed listening for this time, and from that I came to learn a lot. I did not have much to say though as a participant because everything was being said by the speaker and agreed upon by the audience so that was great. The thing is about being part of an audience is that peaceful act of sitting back and listening to what the rest of the audience has to say, how they feel about what's being told and the fun part is, nodding to what you agree upon or simply saying " No that's not really it.". That's what I love doing at workshops of such kind.

Anyways, right at the introduction, the speaker was introducing the topic in a very relatable manner since the audience was 99.9% college students. For that he really knew how to kick off his workshop really well. That's  when he started talking about GPAs. Everyone joined in with their experiences, thoughts and miseries. I never knew how GPAs were more like nightmares to everyone, though they never really mattered to me. How was that even possible? I never really thought of it, I just studied and whatever came out came, thankfully it was always satisfying.  The speaker was a certified trainer, an honour student and a very qualified speaker. What a grand mix, he was proud of who he was and where he stood, I bet it took a lot of hard work and sweat to stand on that stage,  I don't blame him because I know what it feels like to reach that moment after hard work. The process of reaching that goal is a private matter between you and yourself because no one really cares about it more than yourself, you should not bother and explain how you got there. It's part of the plan actually to keep the fruits of obstacles to yourself because you had your own way of overcoming them.  However, you do have the choice to share, but in the end you'd be thinking 'Why bother, let's just keep it to the final moment.'

Throughout the introduction, GPA was a hot topic amongst the audience and everyone shared their thoughts. There was this one thought that drew me back and caused way too much tension and whispers in the audience. It was that one that took me aback for a second. The moment was centered around a Chemical Engineer student that basically hated what she was doing. She simply hated the fact that she has to do Chemical Engineering and just wants to get it over with and get a job. All she cared about was maintaining a GPA above 2.0 and getting ahold of her final bachelor's degree. Now I know what you must be thinking "Why? What made her speak up like this?" That's what I thought exactly, why bother spend the rest 5-6 years in misery just for the sake of a bachelor's degree? That's not going to buy you a job is it? That was simply the speaker's answer " Your degree is not going to secure you that job you always wanted" Yes you do have a bachelor's degree from one of the world's leading universities in the Middle East, but that doesn't mean you get a job because you might as well fail your first interview questions.

What got me thinking was quite a lot. The speaker had the perfect reply to that one student "You're making the biggest mistake of your life, you won't secure a job like that." he said.

"If I were you, I'd try to dig up and find the simplest acts that'll make me enjoy and love what I'm doing today" that was it, just like that, trying to find something that makes it worth the time and effort. This reflects on the fact that whatever time you spend in misery is not going to do you no good anyways so why not find productivity in that time span you spend?  That's split second you spend in anger and unworthiness will never come back, it turns to wasted time in basically nothing so why?

This is very debatable but from a personal perspective I find it awful for people to live their lives that way, it's their life there's no doubt, but that's not the way it should be lived. Especially when you're given all that it takes to live it well and only a little effort is to be done on your behalf, then I don't think you have the right to nag really..it's just a waste of breath.

Acceptance

0

There are a lot of reasons why we came out different, with different personalities, beliefs, preferences and even opinions. We never meet people that share the exact thoughts as we do, there's always a conflict, have it a desirable one or simply an undesirable one.

There's one pitfall most people fall into though, they simply fail to acknowledge the fact that we are actually different than one another for a reason. Imagine living in a world where everyone thinks the same way, everyone follows the same beliefs, same way of behaviour etc. That means the world is populated with infinite clones of one person and one person only. How boring is that going to be?

Living with no arguments, no challenges , and no contradictions. That's not it. However, people should learn to accept where others come from, what they have to say and what they think. They can be on the same page, and they can be on completely different pages but still maintain that smooth talk where one will eventually outgrow the other, or when both of them accept what the other has to say but still to what they know.

Eventually, it all goes down to what you want to do, whether its the pleasure of listening to what other have to say or simply put in all your effort to start an argument out of nothing.

The best part of being different is merely having different preferences and hobbies. We do meet people that share the same hobby, but believe it or not, they're also different. How is that possible? It just is. People that share the same hobby, share the same concept because they both enjoy practising a certain activity, however, they do it for a different purpose. Some people are paid to take pictures, it's their source of living. Others simply find mental peace as they capture moments they only can see. See, it's the same activity, but the motives differ. That's pretty fascinating.

Being different isn't something to be ashamed off, it's to be proud of. Once you accept the fact that we're all different in our own way, then life will open up marvellous doors. You'll get to meet new people, people from literally the other side of the globe. You'd get to communicate with people that share the same date of birth as you are and feel creepy about that for some reason. You'll get the chance to strongly point in your thoughts while you accept others and find support to what you're trying to point out.  That's what life is all about.

If you came to accept that, then you're going to experience a whole different side of life you were this close of missing out on.

"Learn to accept and always be humble, for our source of existence is literally identical." ~E.Bliss

The "My Myself & I" paradigm

0

© quotesgram.com
"Life does not revolve around you only, if it were you wouldn't of made it this far anyways." - E.B

Well this is where you come out and tell me who that is. Is it only you or is it yourself as well? There's this well-known weird type of paradigm that's been obviously popular over the past few years. I'm sure everyone's already familiar with it, it's the me,myself, and I paradigm. It's becoming quite global, for those who are not familiar with it this is what it simply means.

The me,myself, and I paradigm:

  1. You only care about you
  2. You only care about yourself
  3. You only care about you and yourself
Pretty simple, but looking deep into it it's like the entire world revolves around you only. Now are you the only one in this planet of more than a billion soul? If you consider the animal kingdom itself, then that counts to a very large number of souls, when we get to the human part of the world's population, it's probably a double or triple. That's not the point though so let's stay with the humans. There's always that moment we all take every once in a while when we just look around and wonder what everyone's going through. What they're currently thinking of, what they've just encountered, how is it back at home, who are they worrying about the most, are they doing all the work, are they really satisfied with who they are right now. Ignoring yourself for a moment and appreciating the humans walking in front of you, the ones sitting next to you, the ones you go to class with adds up to what is known as "self-appreciation and respect."

You are not meant to be 100% happy or satisfied in your life, and that's a fact. We humans, sadly comprehend this fact in a very negative way. We simply think " why us ? " when god decides to test our patience. We always wonder "am I really jinxed?" when god wants you to look around and get a hold of yourself. That's just the way we humans work. The only difference between us all is how we really react, and that's where we stand out. Regardless of what good and bad you're currently in , you should just bless the fact that you're still better than someone else out there. That woman sitting on the bench reading a book could be going through a rougher time than you are. The girl walking by and smiling to your face must've had a rough night but still managed to draw that smile to draw that line between her personal and academic life.

It's by human nature for us to vent and talk about what bothers us, but there has to be the right party that takes it in and eventually makes you feel better. Some people do not accept that and hold it against you, why do that though? If you've been able to toggle all matters and work hard, then there was this one time when you slipped, why would they hold that against you? Didn't they go through the same?

You should always give what you take, but in return it always goes down to who you really are deep down inside. You should not expect in return, you just give give give for your own sake. Just remember that there will always be that one time in your life time where you can come out as a normal human being, just be careful who witnesses that.

There is no "me" really, it's just all of us appreciating the other. In the end we all follow different paths, but in the end we all fall down the same one.

Thoughts in the void

0

From time to time things happen, and we go through some ordeals or shall I classify them as 'ups' & 'downs'. They are not always bad, but they are sometimes lesson teachers. It's the way life is, you go through something and you either pass the test and learn something valuable, or you fail and stay where you are.

People always said that if you are on the right track, or if you are doing well then others will try to bring you down. It's some sort of motto I guess, but it's true. They think you were born this way and it's the way you will carry on forever, but that's not the entire truth is it?

You were born just like any other in this world, the only difference is that you decided to plan your life and set goals, while they slacked off till it's too late. It's quite sad I must admit but it's the painful truth as they say.

The other day I was out and surrounded by basically the entire human race where I live and it was something I've never experienced before, but I'm really glad I did. Being surrounded by all these people with all the thoughts running in their heads, it was fascinating. Just imagine for a second if you were able to read people's thoughts and listen to their unspoken words, how awful will that be? Or won't it be awful? I surly will not be able to handle it that's for sure because I find it difficult to listen to a group of 3 people speaking at the same time..it's nerve-wrecking to be precise.

Anyways, it's already week 2 of the Spring semester and so far I feel a bit lost because my schedule is not very stable at the moment and it's driving me nuts, with all the senior meetings and the Dassault challenge meetings...I've got to get things written down and organised for the sake of it .
